The Indiana Securities Division approved The Shield Finance as a registered investment advisory firm.
I’m going to let that sit for a second.
This has been in process for months. Forms, filings, compliance disclosures, regulatory infrastructure that most people never see — and that I’ve been building piece by piece alongside everything else. It’s not the kind of thing you talk about while it’s happening, partly because you don’t know when it ends, and partly because it felt like something to do quietly and get right.
Now it’s done.
What This Means
Registration means I can now offer formal investment advisory services — not just financial coaching and education, but actual investment guidance delivered under a fiduciary standard, in writing, as a registered firm. If you’ve been wanting to work with someone you trust to help manage the investment side of your financial life, that conversation is now available.
What it doesn’t change: everything that brought you here. The approach. The directness. The focus on law enforcement households specifically. The fact that I’m not going to recommend something I wouldn’t put my own money into. Registration doesn’t change any of that — it just expands what I’m legally able to do on your behalf.
Why This Matters to Me
I’ve been a cop. I’ve watched officers retire without a plan. I’ve seen what financial confusion does to a family across an entire career — the stress, the arguments, the decisions made in the dark.
This business exists because that matters to me. And registration means I can help in a more complete way than I could before. Coaching is one thing. Being able to sit down with someone, look at their full picture — pension, deferred comp, investments, insurance, goals — and actually help them build and manage a plan? That’s something else.
I’ve been building toward that.
What’s Next
If you’ve been on the fence, or waiting to see where this was going — this is part of the answer.
I’m still one person. I’m still only taking on a limited number of clients at a time. That’s intentional. The whole point is that the work is actually done, not handed off.
If you want to have a conversation about what working together could look like, reach out. That’s what The Shield Finance is here for.
